TSCP wraps up investment in fast-growing Bubbakoo’s Burritos franchise
Thompson Street Capital Partners has acquired Bubbakoo’s Burritos, a rapidly expanding US-based franchisor of Mexican-fusion fast-casual restaurants. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2008 by industry veterans Bill Hart and Paul Altero, Bubbakoo’s has grown into a 130-location network across 15 states, with a strong footprint along the East Coast and Midwest.
The brand has developed a loyal customer base through its made-to-order offerings and vibrant in-store experience. It began franchising in 2015.
The acquisition highlights TSCP’s continued focus on founder-led, scalable consumer businesses. “Bubbakoo’s has created an innovative and compelling brand that resonates with a broad and growing customer base,” said Bob Dunn, Managing Partner at TSCP. “We are thrilled to partner with the team as they enter this next phase of expansion.”
TSCP intends to back the company’s growth with investments in technology, brand development, and franchisee support systems. “The company has built a strong foundation, and our team is eager to help accelerate growth while maintaining the culture and values that have made Bubbakoo’s a success,” added Joe St. Geme, Managing Director at TSCP.
Co-founders Hart and Altero emphasised the strategic alignment with TSCP. “With their support, we’re confident Bubbakoo’s can accelerate its growth into new markets, invest in technology and infrastructure, and continue building a world-class franchise system,” said Altero.
Sidley Austin served as legal advisor to TSCP on the transaction.
